In a previous correspondence game Lechessclub played IM Moonspell on ICC. Surprisingly Lechessclub managed to win the game. GM Neil McDonald of chesspublishing.com awarded a "!!" for a theoretical novelty in that game.

1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. e5 c5 5. a3 Ba5 6. Qg4 Ne7 7. dxc5 Bxc3+ 8. bxc3 Qa5 9. Bd2 Ng6 10. Nf3 Nd7 11. Bd3 Nxc5 12. O-O Ne4 13. Bxe4!? Ponomariov - Borovikov continued: 13. Be3 h5 14. Qh3 Qxc3 15. Nd4 Bd7 (1-0 in 68). USCF Master Jim Blackwood: 'However, we decided, despite Black's loss, that Black's position here is not so bad. Hence our attempt to improve on Ponomariov's play with the immediate capture of the e4-knight.'
